We inspect deck coring, stringer placement, and existing mounting points before quoting. Where backing is thin, we fabricate reinforcement plates so the tower loads are spread properly across the structure.
Is it worth repairing an older T-top, or should I have a new one built?
If the tube is sound and only joints or mounts have failed, repair usually makes sense. Widespread corrosion, cracked tubing, or a poor original design is better solved with a rebuild.
What makes marine-grade aluminum different from aluminum used in general fabrication?
Marine alloys resist saltwater corrosion far better and hold strength after welding. Using shop-grade aluminum on a boat leads to pitting, weakened joints, and failures that show up within a season.
Do you handle upholstery as part of a custom boat seating project?
Yes. We build the frame and finish it with marine vinyl, closed-cell foam, and stitching designed to drain and dry, so cushions do not hold water or split under constant sun.
Can you fabricate a replacement part when the original manufacturer no longer supplies it?
Reproducing discontinued parts is routine work for us. Bring the broken component, or the mounting area if it is missing entirely, and we will fabricate a replacement that fits correctly.
How much maintenance does a welded aluminum tower or T-top need over time?
Very little. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater trips, check fasteners each season, and inspect mounting points annually. Powder coated or polished finishes benefit from occasional cleaning and protectant.
Do you offer mobile service, or does my boat need to come to your shop?
Most fabrication happens in the shop where jigs, fixtures, and clean welding conditions are available. Certain repairs and installations can be handled on site, so ask when you call.
What is your turnaround on urgent repair welding during peak fishing season?
We understand a broken bracket in July costs you real trips. Emergency repairs are prioritized where possible, and flexible scheduling lets us fit critical fixes around larger builds already in progress.
Can you add rod holders, grab rails, and other accessories to an existing T-top?
Absolutely. Adding hardware to an existing structure is common work, and we weld and reinforce at each attachment point so the additions do not stress or crack the original frame.
